The arrival of a new member of the family is always good news, and it is no different in the case of Magic Mike. Channing Tatum and his fiery dance moves in Magic Mike impressed all, especially the ladies. But this new member in the Tatum family will leave you in total awe with his overloading cuteness.
Channing’s love for dogs is known to all, and keeping his “dog-loving” image the 40-year-old star has now adopted a 12-week old fuzzy friend. Yes, the new member of the Tatum family is an adorable Dutch Shepherd. The “Logan Lucky” star took to Instagram to introduce the new member of the family to the world. Have a look below:
Channing has named him Rooklin that surely goes along with his captivating eyes. Rookin entered the Tatum family just at the time when Channing was proceeding with his directorial debut “Dog”. Coincidence? We don’t think so.
Channing and his beloved dog Lulu, a Pitbull Catahoula mix, were a hot topic until 2018 when Lulu passed away leaving Channing and his ex-wife Jenna Dewan devastated. Lulu was so close to Channing that he decided to start his journey as a director by recreating the memory of his beloved dog. “Dog” is set to be a road trip comedy featuring Tatum as Briggs and his co-star a Belgian Malinois dog as Lulu.
The plot is expected to revolve around two ex-Army officers, who will be seen sharing some heart touching moments with each other while they drive to attend a fellow soldier’s funeral. While you already know Tatum will be one of the former Army rangers, you must have guessed already that the other one is the Belgian Malinois herself who will have the responsibility to portray real-life Lulu on screen. After Lulu passed away in 2018, Tatum’s ex-wife took to Instagram to pen a heartfelt message for their “sweet angel”.
After Lulu passed away, reports of Tatum working on the script to make a movie owed to his beloved Lulu, started revolving around. And when Tatum’s long time friend and media partner Reid Carolin confirmed the news, we just found another reason to love Magic Mike. As we witnessed some big names in the studio industry bidding to gain the rights of the film, MGM (Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios) succeeded to gain the film’s North America Rights.
Yes, this is the same studio producing some blockbuster films like Wizards of Oz, Me before you, etc. Though MGM-Tatum collaboration is not new in the case of “Dog” as the studios have already worked with him in 21 Jump Street and 22 Jump Street. Tatum took to his Twitter to confirm the news of making the film after Lulu and shared some real-life road trip pictures with her to take us down memory lane.
The film is all set to be released on the 2021 Valentine’s weekend. As the pandemic took over Valentine’s this year, we can just pray that you get to spend some good movie time with your partners as soon as this heartwarming project comes to the theatres. And Rooklin’s arrival turned out to be the icing on the cake just at the time when Tatum was recreating good old days spent with Lulu through the film. Though this is not the first time that Tatum is using the platforms to create projects inspired by his loved ones. Just last month Tatum announced his first-ever Children’s book project “The One and Only Sparkella”, inspired by his 7-year-old daughter Everly, whom he shares with his ex-wife Jenna Dewan.
How the audience reacts to “Dog” will be revealed in the span of time, but for now, the new adorable member of the Tatum family surely deserves all the love. And maybe we can see him making his debut on the big screens through “Dog”. Who knows?
